A prospective open-label study of the antifungal activity of external forms of activated zinc pyrithione in the treatment of Malassezia-associated skin diseases

Background. There is insufficient data on the antifungal activity of activated zinc pyrithione, which widely used in practice. Taking into account reports about a significant role Malassezia pathogenesis number dermatoses, study this issue scientific, practical interest.
 Aims. To evaluate external forms pyrithione treatment psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, pityriasis versicolor.
 Materials and methods. An open prospective was conducted between March July 2022. Patients with were treated for 21 days. Skin scales circular prints from lesion foci, as well skin areas without clinical manifestations before after therapy studied. A quantitative assessment colonization by micromycetes performed using microscopic, cultural methods examination. Clinical efficacy drug safety assessed Dermatological Symptom Scale Index, recording adverse events at weeks 0, 1, 2, 3.
 Results. 64 patients aged 18 to 65 years diagnoses versicolor included. 60 completed study, 4 excluded due failure adhere schedule.
